A fully registered residential building contractor based in Gordon's Bay, building across the Helderberg since 2016, with over fifty years of collective experience behind it. One owner, Davon Arendse, hands on from the first site meeting to handover. Most of what we do is new homes, on ground of every kind.
Our story
Building on the mountain isn't for everyone. You've got the access to sort out before a single truck arrives, the excavation, the retaining, and getting a proper footing down into rock. It is work that has to be planned from the ground up rather than adapted from a flat site method, and it is what we have built the business around.
We went the other way. We learnt how to do it properly, and it became the thing people call us for. African Eagle Projects has been building since 2016, and there is over fifty years of collective experience in the company, from our director, Davon Arendse, through our project managers to the specialised teams on the ground. Today, if there's a house going up on the mountain around Gordon's Bay, there's a good chance it's ours.
None of which means we only want the hard ones. A flat erf in Somerset West, a second storey on a family home in Strand, a kitchen that needs opening up. That is a good part of our week, and it gets the same crew, the same standard and the same care as anything on the mountain. If your build is a straightforward one, you are exactly who we want to hear from.
How we're set up
You don't have to go and find an architect, then chase an engineer, then hunt down a builder and hope the three of them talk to each other. We bring the team with us.
Our architect and engineers draw your house and do the structural work. On a sloped site that engineering matters more than anywhere, so we get it right before we cost the job.
We submit to council for you and we keep going back until it's approved. You don't need to sit in a queue in Somerset West on a Tuesday morning.
The building itself is done by our people, with trades we've worked with for years. Same faces on your site from the foundation to the handover.

Gordon's Bay is home. We work all over the Helderberg, over Clarence Drive into Betty's Bay and the Overberg, and into greater Cape Town. And we'll travel for the right job.
