What we do

From the plans to the keys

Take the whole thing off our hands, or bring us in for one part of it. Both work.

01 / New homes

New home construction

Ground-up family homes across the Helderberg. Single storey on a flat erf, or triple storey carved into a mountainside. Built by our own teams and enrolled with the NHBRC, so your house is covered the way it should be.

  • Site works, excavation, retaining and platform
  • Structure, suspended slabs and off-shutter concrete
  • Full finishes through to handover

02 / Renovations

Renovations and additions

A kitchen that needs opening up, a second storey, a wing on the back for the family. We work clean, we keep the dust down, and we get out of your house on the date we said we would.

  • Structural alterations and additions
  • Kitchens, bathrooms and full interior refits
  • Plans and council submission where the work needs it

03 / Wet works

Wet works and project management

Some owners want to buy their own finishes and run that part themselves. Fair enough. We take the build to lock up, run all the concrete, plumbing and electrical, then manage the trades that come after so nobody stands around waiting.

  • Phase 1: structure, concrete, plumbing and electrical
  • Phase 2: your trades, our programme and site management
  • Costs tracked against the budget as we go

04 / Design

Consultation and 3D design

Before you commit to anything, let's sit down and look at it properly. What the site allows, what the finishes are going to cost you, and a 3D view of the house so you can see it standing there before we build it.

  • Site assessment, including whether a steep plot is worth buying
  • Material and finish options against your budget
  • 3D views so the family can agree before it's built

05 / Plans

Architectural plans and council submission

Our architect and engineers draw the plans, and we push the submission through council for you, following it up until it's approved. On the mountain the engineering is half the job, so we'd rather it came from a team that knows what we're going to hit in the ground.

  • Full architectural drawings
  • Structural engineering for slopes, retaining and slabs
  • Submission and follow up until approval comes through

We'll beat any comparable written quote on a mountain build

A steep site does cost more than a flat one, and it should. The access, the cut and the retaining are real work. What they should not carry on top is a guess. Send us the plans and we'll price the job properly, and if you have already been quoted for the same scope, we'll beat it.

Common questions

The things people ask us first

Can my plot actually be built on?

Usually yes, and more often than people expect. Send us the erf number or a photo from the road and we'll give you a straight answer, including what the site work is likely to add.

Does a mountain site cost a lot more?

The site work costs more, that's honest. Access, excavation and retaining all take time. The house on top of it doesn't have to, and we don't add a premium just because the ground is steep.

Do you handle the plans and council?

Yes. Our architect and engineers do the drawings and we run the submission and the follow ups. You get one team for the whole thing.

Are you NHBRC registered?

We are, and we enrol every new home. We're also a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor.

How long does a new home take?

It depends on the size and the site, and we'd rather give you a real programme than a number off the top of our heads. You'll get one with your quote, before anything starts.

Do you build outside the Helderberg?

Gordon's Bay, Somerset West and Strand are home ground. We work into Betty's Bay and the Overberg, and into greater Cape Town, and we'll travel for the right job.
